Welcome to our Mystery Quilt 2021! Come one, come all and let’s quilt together! Join us for 12 days of non-stop FUN!

Since we are just starting, I think it would be nice to have a little “one on one” about fabrics. First off, we have a few color options – blue and white or rainbow!

Blue and Light: Looking for a crisp, fresh new quilt? This is the one for you! For this stunning quilt option, we have chosen to use one of our best-sellers, “Perfect Union“. This collection of fabrics is so elegant and crisp! If this bundle has sold out – do not worry – we have made a special “Blue Mystery” bundle just for you!

Edyta’s Tip: When I choose fabrics, I follow the “Rule of 5″ – big print, medium print, small print, stripe, and polka-dot. As you can see, I love to mix everything together! From traditional to modern, solids to reproduction, there is room for everything in this quilt.

Rainbow: Consider going BRIGHT by starting with either our “Linen Texture” or “Olive Branch” fabric collections to achieve your soon-to-be-favorite multicolored, mystery quilt!

Once you’ve decided which color option to quilt, you’ll want to gather the rest of your supplies and make sure you are signed up with our Newsletter and subscribed the LBQ YouTube Channel!

Here’s a list of everything you will need: • Fabric Edyta’s Tip: I like to press all my fat quarter ahead of cutting. I use Best Press for a nice, crisp finish! Olfa Rotary and Blades Edyta’s Tip: Always have a stash of fresh blades for your rotary and remember to change yours often for the cleanest cuts. • Creative Grids Rulers Edyta’s Tip: I use my 4-1/2″ x 12-1/2″ ruler to first cut the fabric and then use my 4-1/2″ square ruler to trim the block for a perfect fit. Olfa Spinning Mat • Aurifil Thread – 2310 recommended Fabric Seam Press 2″ Finished Half Square Triangle Paper Pins, scissors, and fresh needles

Is everyone as excited as I am to get started?!

Let’s breakdown how the 12 days of this event will go: Each day will begin with an introductory blog post for that Block that includes fabric selection and cutting recipes, followed by the block’s instructional step-by-step video on our YouTube Channel.

Each blog post will set the stage for your mystery Block of that Day. It will reveal what Blocks to sew, which fabrics you will need and how many total of each block you need to make. But the most exciting part will be the block’s positions in the quilt grid as they progressively fill out each day, slowly revealing the mystery!

Above is your blank, starting grid (15 x 15 squares) Please be patient as you complete your Blocks. We are planning to sew them into rows and then sew rows together.

Once you are all set and ready to begin, switch over to our YouTube Channel and Edyta herself will walk you through all the block’s sewing, trimming, pressing instructions and so much MORE.

See you there!

Happy Quilting! Edyta

Hello everyone! I am so thankful and excited to be starting another wonderful Block of the Month with all of you.

This basket quilt is super special to me. It will feature a lot of different basket designs. • • • I named it “Anna’s Baskets” after my husbands grandmother. She was the one that taught me how to quilt, and she loved baskets, including an old, antique laundry basket in which she used to store her quilts in. • • • Now you know where from which the Laundry Basket Quilts name originated from!

Over the next 8 months, I am looking forward to learning, growing, and quilting with you all!

Currently the Anna’s Basket BOM is filled.

The first block pattern is available on our website and the Seamstress fabrics will be arriving later this month. Please sign up for our newsletter if you would like to be notified of all the happenings at Laundry Basket Quilts.

Let the fun begin with our first block! It is made with Basket 1, Basket 2, and Basket 3. Visit our YouTube Channel for information and details on how to sew each basket.

Happy Quilting! Edyta
