Welcome back to our Winter Village Quilt Along! We are on our LAST block! Can you believe it? You have all done SO WELL!

Here are the last 3 houses of our neighborhood!


House 21

Start by cutting House 21. Follow the directions on page 30 of the Winter Village Pattern and lay out all your pieces for the twenty-first house.

To assemble this house, pin and sew blue squares to each side of both window squares. Sew larger blue rectangles underneath each window strip and press before sewing to either side of the light door rectangle.

Next, sew the window strips together first before pinning and sewing all rows together then press.

Using your fabric pencil and ruler to make the roof unit, draw a diagonal line on both of the light, sky squares. Sew on the line, then trim 1/4″ away from the line and press your roof unit.

Sew all units together starting with the roof. Finish by pressing.


House 22

Start by cutting House 22. Follow the directions on page 31 of the Winter Village Pattern and lay out all your pieces for the twenty-second house.

For the wall unit, sew the top and bottom blue rectangles to the light window square. Now, pin and sew the remaining side blue rectangles to complete the walls.

Using your fabric pencil and ruler to make the roof unit, draw a diagonal line on both of the light, sky squares. Sew on the line, then trim 1/4″ away from the line and press your roof unit.

Sew all house units together and finish by adding adding sashing and pressing.


House 23

Start by cutting House 23. Follow the directions on page 32 of the Winter Village Pattern and lay out all your pieces for the eighteenth house.

Now we’re going to let you build this last house by yourself! You’ve got this!


I am so proud of you, we just finished all of the blocks for our Winter Village quilt! Follow the pattern directions to assemble quilt top, applique, quilting, and binding.

Come quilt with me!

We are moving right along, only two more blocks until our village is complete!

It’s not too late to join us – CLICK HERE this link will take you to the beginning of our journey!

Today we will work on Block 7.


House 18

Start by cutting House 18. Follow the directions on page 26 of the Winter Village Pattern and lay out all your pieces for the eighteenth house.

Sew the blue square and smaller rectangle to the top and bottom of the light window square and press.

Pin and sew the longer blue rectangles to each side of this strip.

For the chimney, sew a light fabric cut to each side of the blue square and press. Sew chimney to roof and press.

Sew the sky, roof, and wall units together – row by row – before adding the light side sashing and press.

House 19

Cut your pieces for House 19. Follow the directions on page 27 of the Winter Village Pattern and lay out all your pieces for the nineteenth house.

Pin and sew top blue rectangle to the light barn door first. Then pin and sew both side rectangles to your block and press.

Pin and sew roof and sky rectangles.

Sew house, roof and sky units together before adding the light side sashing on the right side and press to complete.


House 20

Cut your pieces for House 20. Follow the directions on page 28 of the Winter Village Pattern and lay out all your pieces for the twentieth house.

For your wall units, sew the top, middle, and bottom blue rectangles to the light window squares. Next sew the blue rectangle to the light door. Pin and sew longer blue rectangles in between each section, then sew all together and press.

For the roof unit, lay your light sky squares right sides together on top of your blue roof triangle. Use your fabric pencil and ruler to draw a diagonal line on both of the light sky squares. Sew on the line, then trim 1/4″ away from the line. Next, press your Flying Geese unit open.

For the chimney, sew a light rectangle to each side of a blue square and press.

Complete your house by sewing the sky, chimney, roof, and wall units together row by row. Pin and sew on side sashing. Press to finish.

Now you can kick back, relax, and enjoy the view!
