Welcome to Block 4 of our Mystery Quilt 2022!

I am so proud of you. You are doing such a great job on your blocks and learning something new everyday. I can't wait to share with you what I have prepared for today!

Below is all the information you need to prepare before joining

For Block 4, you will need:

1 light fabric

1 light blue fabric


Block 4A Block 4B



Block 4


We will be making 8 Block 4As and 8 Block 4Bs.


Cutting Directions:

These cutting instructions are ONLY for Creative Grids® ALASKA Ruler:

Begin by cutting strips:

Light fabric - 2 strip 4½" x WOF from this strip, cut 8 rectangles 4½" x 6½"

Light blue fabric - 2 strips 6½" x 20" from these strips, cut 10 rectangles 6½" x 3"


These cutting instructions are ONLY for Mystery 2022 Templates:

Begin by cutting strips:

Light fabric - 1 strip 6½" x WOF

Light blue fabric - 2 strips 6½" x 20"


First, arrange by alternating 5 light blue rectangles and 4 light rectangles to create a panel.

Sew rectangles together and press your seam allowances open.

Repeat to make a total of 2 panels.



Align your ruler and cut.

We will start by cutting Block 4A.

Pay attention that the center line of your

ruler is 1/2" away from the seam.





Flip your ruler over, align it on the

fabric and again cut. You will cut 8 pieces from your first panel.

Then proceed to cutting your Block 4B from the second panel.

Make sure that your light blue fabric is now

on the left side of the unit.






You will have a total of

8 Block 4As and 8 Block 4Bs.

Cutting with the Mystery Templates J and K:




Place your light fabric strip right sides together.








Position your Template J on the light

fabric as shown and cut.







Rotate your Template J to cut again.

Repeat for a total 8 sets.







With every cut, you will get a left and a right piece for Block 4A and Block 4B.







Place your light blue fabric strip

right sides together.







Position your Template K on the

light blue fabric as shown and cut.







Rotate your Template K to cut again.

Repeat 8 times.

With every cut, you will get a left and a right piece for Block 4A and Block 4B.





Block Finishing

These steps are required for Mystery Templates ONLY


Edyta's Tip: Keep your ruler or templates handy after cutting.

They are the perfect tool to help you precisely mark your fabric cuts!

Arrange your pieces J and K as shown above to create one Block 4B.

Place your pieces right sides together. Align the bottom edge.

Pin and sew.

Press seams towards the light blue fabric. Repeat steps to create 8 Block 4Bs.

Then proceed to making 8 Block 4As. Use your Template A or ruler to trim all units.

Welcome to Block 3 of our Mystery Quilt 2022!

I am so thankful to be quilting with you.

Hoping you have a wonderful, sunny day today!

Below is all the information you need to prepare before joining

For Block 3, you will need:

1 dark blue fabric

1 light blue fabric

1 light fabric







Block 3


We will be making 16 total Block 3s.










Cutting Directions:

Begin by cutting strips:

Light blue fabric - 4 strips 3½" x 20"

Dark blue fabric - 2 strips 3½" x 20"

Light fabric - 2 strips 3½" x 20"


Align your ruler or template B and cut using your skills from Block 3.


From one strip of fabric, you should be able to get 8 pieces.

Light blue fabric - 32 pieces total (4 strips)

Dark blue fabric - 16 pieces total (2 strips)

Light fabric - 16 pieces total (2 strips)


Block Finishing

Edyta's Tip: Keep your ruler or templates handy after cutting.

They are the perfect tool to help you precisely mark your sewing points.

First mark your 1/4" points and arrange your pieces: dark blue piece on the top,

light fabric piece in the middle, and a light blue piece on each side.

Position the dark blue piece over the light fabric piece right sides together.

Pin and sew.

Press your seam open.

Place the light blue piece over the unit right sides together.

Pin and sew.

Press your seam towards the light blue.

Position and sew second light blue piece as shown above.

Sew and press seams towards the light blue.


Use your template A or ruler to trim.

16 Block 3s


Our Block 3s will be positioned as shown above in our Mystery Quilt 2022 grid.

Just a reminder, we will be making 8 identical grid sections like this.

Welcome to Block 2 of our Mystery Quilt 2022

Great job yesterday.

I hope you're ready for another fun block today!

Below is all the information you need to prepare before joining

For Block 2, you will need:

1 light blue fabric

1 dark blue fabric







Block 2


We will be making 16 total Block 2s.










Cutting Directions:

Begin by cutting strips:

Dark blue fabric - 2 strips 3½" x 20"

Light blue fabric - 4 strips 3½" x 20"




Align your ruler and cut.


From one strip of dark blue fabric, you should be able to get 8 pieces. Cut both strips for a

total of 16 dark blue pieces.





Align your ruler and cut.


From one strip of light blue fabric, you should be able to get 4 pieces. Cut 4 strips for a

total of 16 light blue pieces.




Alternative way of cutting with the Mystery Templates B and C:



Use your Template B to cut your pieces from the dark blue fabric strips as shown in the picture. Cut 16 pieces.







Use your Template C to cut your pieces from the light blue fabric strips as shown in the picture. Cut 16 pieces.






Block Assembly

Edyta's Tip: Keep your ruler or templates handy after cutting.

They are the perfect tool to help you precisely mark your sewing points.

Arrange your pieces with dark blue triangle on the top and light blue piece on the bottom.

Lay and pin them right sides together.

Then sew blocks together using chain sewing.

Press your seam open and use your template A or ruler to trim.
