Welcome back to our Mystery Quilt Along! I am so excited to share another block with you today. You are making such amazing progress! If you would like some of your blocks features on our blog, please share them with us via email.

This may be my favorite block! Are you ready?

For Block 7, you will need: (choose the fabrics shown above from your Super Bloom bundle)

  1. Fat 1/8 pink fabric

  2. 12″ light square

  3. Fat quarter light fabric

We will be making 8 blocks. The cutting directions are listed below:

  1. 32 light half-square triangles cut from 16 squares 3-7/8″

  2. 32 pink half-square triangles cut from 16 squares 3″

  3. 8 light squares 3-1/2″

Arrange 4 pink triangles with a square in the center as shown above.

Sew two triangles on opposite sides. Remember to center them and pin. Push the seam allowances toward the square.

Add remaining pink triangles on opposite sides. Press and push the seam allowances toward the pink triangles. Watch our YouTube video for more tips about pressing and sewing.

Trim this unit to 4-3/4″ x 4-3/4″ using your ruler.

Arrange and sew 4 light half square triangles around the center unit as shown above.

Trim your your block to 6-1/2″. I use my 6-1/2″ Creative Grids ruler.

Repeat until you have completed 8 Mystery Quilt Block 7s.

Our seventh blocks will be positioned as shown above in our Mystery quilt! We are almost halfway through! What do you think?

Please DO NOT start sewing blocks together at this time. We need to complete all blocks before sewing them into a quilt top. We are only laying them out on our design wall at this point.

Last night I had the chance to catch a sunset, I wish you were here!

We are hoping to get a little bit more of our Super Bloom fabrics! At this time we still have Charm Packs and Jelly Rolls.

Thank you for joining me in this Mystery Quilt-along. I feel so lucky to be quilting alongside each of you

in these times. Our community is so strong and this week I am thankful for you!

Ready for another mystery block?

For Block 6, you will need: (choose the fabrics shown above from your Super Bloom bundle)

  1. Fat 1/8 light fabric

  2. 10″ light square

  3. 10″ blue square

  4. 10″ pink square

  5. 10″ pink square

We will be making 4 blocks. The cutting directions are listed below:

  1. 8 light half-square triangles cut from 4 squares 3-7/8″

  2. 8 blue half-square triangles cut from 4 squares 3-7/8″

  3. 8 light half-square triangles cut from 4 squares 2-3/8″

  4. 8 pink half-square triangles cut from 4 squares 2-3/8″

  5. 8 pink squares 2″

  6. 16 light squares 2″

Please watch our Block 6 YouTube Video for additional tips cutting this block.

Start by making blue half square triangle (HST) unit, join one 3-7/8″ light half-square triangle and one 3-7/8″ blue half-square triangle.

Trim blue HST unit to 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ using your ruler.

Arrange and sew small, pink HST unit. Join one 2-3/8″ light half-square triangle and one 2-3/8″ pink half-square triangle

Trim the bunny ears and arrange with two light 2″ squares and one pink 2″ square.

After sewing, push the seam allowance towards the light square.

Pin in the middle and then sew together pink unit.

Arrange and sew two blue HST units with two pink units.

Finally square your blocks to 6-1/2″. I use my 6-1/2″ Creative Grids ruler and OLFA Spinning Mat to trim these blocks.

Repeat until you have completed 4 Mystery Quilt Block 6s.

Our sixth blocks will be positioned as shown above in our Mystery quilt! Note position of blue fabrics in quilt layout. We are starting to fill the inner round of our Mystery quilt.

Please DO NOT start sewing blocks together at this time. We need to complete all blocks before sewing them into a quilt top. We are only laying them out on our design wall at this point.

Another good idea for some leftover pieces, is our Stars Upon Stars quilt. This might be the perfect time to try a block or two of this scrappy beauty.

We are hoping to get a little bit more of our Super Bloom fabrics! At this time we still have Charm Packs and Jelly Rolls.
