I hope you are ready to hold on tight to all of your blue scraps and surf the ocean waves of half-square triangles (HST) with me!

Edyta’s Note: If you prefer to use larger HSTs, use our Sea Breeze pattern and our 2″ HST paper pad.

If you do not have your own scraps, I recommend Winter Blues, Winter Lights, and 8515-L or A-9556-L for background. These fabrics will be a perfect “splash” of colors.

Edyta’s Note: LBQ Triangle paper size is shown on its cover as finished HST size.

Select and press one light and one blue 10″ square. Place them right sides together with the light fabric on the top. Position your triangle paper and pin in place. Sew on the dotted lines.

Cut on solid lines then press and peel the paper from your HST.

Cut the remaining rectangles and squares, following your Kelley pattern, from a light background fabric.

Lay out all of your block pieces.

Assemble triangles and background pieces into rows.

Sew and press your rows together.

Keep splashing in your ocean waves of HST and in no time you will have enough blocks to make your entire quilt. If you need extra help, please visit our YouTube Channel for tips and tricks.

Enjoy the calm of the ocean tides as you cuddle up with your beautifully finished Kelley quilt.

Happy Quilting! Edyta

We are so pleased to introduce Quilters Dozen – Sweetheart. A little box of 12 sweet blocks, perfect to fall in love with!

It is going to steal your heart!

This cute kit includes 12 pre-cut Sweetheart blocks, with a 6″ x 6″ finished size. Perfect for quilts, table runners, pillows, borders, and just to say, “I’m sew in love with quilting!”

With extra fabric, you can add a simple sashing and make a larger table runner…

Edyta’s Tip: I use fabric 9464-L from our “Super Bloom” collection for the sashing and cut my strips at 2-1/2″.

Or add 5 squares 6-1/2″, 4 HST cut from 2 squares 5-1/8″, and 12 QST cut from 3 squares 9-3/4″. Your heart will skip a beat!

If you fell in love and purchased three boxes, you now you have enough for a quilt!

Feeling brave (hearted)? With 4 boxes – set them on point to make a cozy couch quilt for your Sweetheart!

Happy Quilting! Edyta
