This is a perfect time to use your Creative Grids® ALASKA Ruler as well!


WEEK 1

This week we will be working on our small diamonds.


Tip of the week: In order to get perfect diamonds, it is nice to give yourself a little bit of room and cut your strips for the diamonds a little bit larger. This gives you a chance to trim all the way around the template.

Come and spend some time quilting with me in the new year.



I am SEW excited for this project.

I will be sharing the most beautiful color options with you for this quilt,

and the best part, there are no Y seams in this 45-degree diamond star!

This blog is your guide for all the fabric and supplies you will need to make a beautiful quilt. Don't forget to sign up for our Newsletter and subscribe to our YouTube Channel

to stay on track during our Juliet Quilt Along.

Below are all the supplies we recommend:

FABRICS

{We have a two Juliet Fabric Kits, or you can use your own fabric stash}


                         Juliet Fabric Kit                              or Juliet - Dahlia Fabric Kit


FABRIC REQUIREMENTS

Diamonds: 21 Fat Quarters multi colors

Background One: 1 yard light fabric

Background Two: 2 yards light fabric

Binding: 2/3 yard fabric

Backing: 2 yards of 108” or 4 yards of 42" width

Appliqué: Silhouettes (fusible) precut shapes are available for appliqué pieces.

4 packages LBQ-1676-S - or - (if you choose to do hand appliqué) Fat Eight Bundle


PATTERN {You will need a pattern to participate in this Quilt Along}


TEMPLATES {These are my recommendations}

Juliet Templates (perfect for cutting and trimming) OR

Creative Grids® Quilt Ruler 4½" x 12½" (perfect for cutting diamonds)


NOTIONS {These are my recommendations} • Aurifil Thread – 2370 recommended

Edyta’s Tip: I like to press all my fabric ahead of cutting. I use Best Press for a nice, crisp finish!

Edyta’s Tip: Always have a stash of fresh blades for your rotary and remember to change your blade often for the cleanest cuts.
